Whidby Institute and Open Space

I was fortunate to be able to attend an Open Space Event last month where I was able to guide Spirit Boat making with a new audience at the Whidby Institute in WA. It was a real boost for me in that my Spirit Boats were part of a wide variety of offerings that enhanced more heartfelt leadership practices. http://whidbeyinstitute.org/event/essence-of-leading/
It was a beautiful setting on Whidby Island and I got to know some very motivated fellow travelers. This four day experience also gave me a hands-on introduction to the principles of Open Space where you follow the law of "two feet", meaning you choose between sessions that cross pollinate ideas and teachings between people for the greater good.  http://www.openspaceworld.org/cgi/wiki.cgi?AboutOpenSpace
"Open Space Technology is one way to enable all kinds of people, in any kind of organization, to create inspired meetings and events. Over the last 20+ years, it has also become clear that opening space, as an intentional leadership practice, can create inspired organizations, where ordinary people work together to create extraordinary results with regularity."
