The lights along the gallery corridor, the spot lights, the reflections on the floor, and a long row of glass windows added luminosity to this naturally beautiful space. It was a joy to be here and share the show with such a receptive audience. It was memorable that I was able to give a tour of my own show. Connie asked me to do a docent style tour so people could ask questions. After all the tours I have led at museums, it felt like I had come full cycle- with my work being the subject. I wanted to bring clarity into my words so that a visitor could better understand my intentions. This tour was not rehearsed or planned. So many of the things I had thought about or felt when I made the art came out as stories that I enjoyed sharing on the spot.
One highlight of the reception was meeting China Brotsky, a woman who had the vision to create a community of like minded non-profit businesses in this historic and architecturally inviting place. The art gallery was named after her and her efforts to make this a viable venue for art that has environmental themes. Thank you China Brotsky and Connie Grauds of the Living Shaman Museum for this exhibition opportunity.

Mark Wangberg, the Co-Founder of the Living Shaman Museum, poet, artist and amazing book designer, wrote a poem for the show and read it to the audience. His words added depth and resonance to the experience.
