Having an art reception is a great time to engage in conversations and make observations. It is a bonus that people usually have something to say about boats, spiritual matters and/or art so the combination of those can prompt some very dynamic and soulful dialog. Being open to other view points is a good practice. When I listen to my audience, I consider the gifts that they bring me with their responses, concepts and even suggestions. Many times valuable resources such as other artists working with a theme, websites, books or authors are offered freely in the spirit of exchange. Investigation is the vehicle that keeps the flow going and I love sharing the ride.
